Lovely Lemons

A few years ago I needed a repeating image on a specific project I was working on. So I bought myself some carving tools and some rubber blocks.

I was first introduced to print carvings when I was about Middle School aged. And my carving actually did quite well in the youth school shows.

When I started carving again, I remembered how much fun it was and how relaxing it was!!! Then my sweet daughter bought a lemon dress, and she loved it, she wore it to church every week.

It must have made an impression on me seeing it every Sunday, because one day in the studio I had the idea to create some lemon pottery.

I have been making it every spring, it's such a great print for Spring and Summer!!! And if you look up the symbolism of lemons you will find they are a symbol of happiness and optimism, and some believe they fight off negative energies. And how could they not! Their smell is uplifting and they make everyone's face shrivel up when eating them.

And check out these lemon Bunnies!!!!!!!!! They are so adorable, even my teenager couldn't help but to express how much she loved them!!!!
