Painting my Peony

This is my second peony painting I absolutely love painting this. It's so beautiful and I go to sleep dreaming about it sometimes.
I imagine myself as an old lady with a room full of canvases in many fazes of completion, but all of them some sort of flower.
I love how beautiful each flower is, how the light reflect and bounces off of them, and how the shadows can make it look like it is popping of the canvas.
But I also love pottery so I am split between two loves. I know at some point my body will be too tired to continue throwing on the pottery week and rolling out large slabs of clay for wall hangings. I am 20 years into this beautiful carer and I can already feel my shoulder aching when I'm really busy.
So until the day when I decide to slow down in the clay studio I will steal little moments and practice painting each petal with intent and joy, knowing that one day I will fill a room with a beautiful garden of paintings.
